"Ernie" has some thoughts on Ferguson.
"Rook" has some thoughts on Ferguson.
According to grand jury testimony:
Michael Brown was abnormally large and strong. He conducted himself in the mom and pop store like a bully who was used to people giving him whatever he wanted out of fear. He picked the store proprietor up off the floor like a rag doll. He took what he wanted and just shoved the proprietor aside as he left the store.
That same "I'm too big and bad to be messed with" attitude came out when he was stopped by Officer Darren Wilson for walking down the middle of the street. He punched the officer so hard it knocked him into the middle of his patrol car. Brown then jumped on top of him inside the patrol car and began punching the officer some more, trying to take away the officer's pistol. During the struggle inside the car the pistol discharged startling Brown, causing him to exit the car and start to run away. When the officer got out of the patrol car he shouted for Brown to stop. Brown turned around and faced the officer...appearing enraged that the officer was continuing to confront him.
Brown started toward the officer and was ordered to stop and surrender. Brown refused to stop. At 6'4" and 285 lbs, Brown is a deadly weapon all by himself. As he advanced on the officer he was shot. Instead of stopping and surrendering, Brown lowered his head and charged the officer like a bull. The officer, believing that Brown had the intent and the capacity to kill him, then shot Brown through the top of his skull, killing him. At no time did Brown raise his hands in surrender or give any other indication that he didn't intend to harm the officer.
* Michael Brown had committed a felony strong arm robbery shortly before being confronted by Officer Wilson.
* Brown was so big, so strong and so fast that he posed a deadly threat to anyone, including the officer, whether he was armed or not.
* Officer Wilson, at 6'1", could not possibly have shot Brown, at 6'4", through the top of his skull unless Brown's head was down, facing toward the officer, in a charging position.
* Officer Wilson was in fear for his life when he discharged his weapon.
Brown's friend, who was with him during the robbery and subsequent confrontation with Officer Wilson, told police investigators and reporters that Brown had his "hands up" and was surrendering when he was shot. That statement was self-serving and NOT corroborated by the facts. However, some reporters ran with it, without any attempt to seek or subsequently publish the truth. The false stories incited and enraged the people of the community and resulted in rioting, arson and murder. "Hands up" protests have been staged in multiple cities with millions in property damage and hundreds of arrests, all based on the original lie of Brown's friend being republished and repeated on TV screens all over the country.
The press have been reticent in publishing the facts as disclosed in the grand jury proceedings, undoubtedly embarrassed by their lack of ethics and professionalism in their role of instigating the protests, riots and other crimes based on their false assumptions.
The press should take up the cause of the injustice done to Officer Wilson, but of course they won't. It would be too embarrassing to admit how stupid, greedy, unethical and self-serving they have become in recent years.
But thay should at least secretly create a fund to help the family of the now unemployed Officer Wilson, who just did his job and did it right.
"Peter" has some thoughts on ObamaCare.
Is MIT Professor Jonathan Gruber right? Are voters stupid? Let's look at the evidence....
ALL of the Democrat Senators and Representatives who voted to pass the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) with NONE of them having read it.
THAT is a prime example of STUPIDITY!
Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi instructed her subordinate Representatives that "We have to pass the Bill in order to find out what's in the Bill..." THAT is a prime example of STUPIDITY! (NO Republicans in either house voted for the ACA.)
When Obama said "If you like your doctor (and/or) your insurance plan, you can keep them." Obama KNEW it was a lie and that he would be caught in the lie, but he said it anyway - multiple times. THAT is a prime example of STUPIDITY!
When the voters who voted for Obama in 2008 they knew or should have known that Obama has NO real work experience, has NO executive management experience, NO track record of accomplishments, NO vetting and close ties to convicted left-wing domestic terrorists. THAT is a prime example of STUPIDITY!
When Obama FAILED to develop an agenda that would increase employment and improve the economy, then got entangled in scandal after scandal and cover-up after cover=up...even getting caught in many lies himself, then getting RE-ELECTED by a majority of voters... THAT is a prime example of STUPIDITY!
So let's not bash Professor Gruber for pointing his finger at STUPIDITY all around him, because he's RIGHT!

It wasn’t a good night for Democrats. I watched MSNBC a good portion of the evening, just to savor the gloom on Chris Matthews face. Disillusioned Independents and Democrats joined Republicans to send the Obama Administration and Obama Democrats a message: We’re sick and tired of your ineptness, your imperial attitude, and your general unresponsiveness to working Americans. After a short celebration, the Republicans are going to have to deliver to the American people—if they expect to remain in power and to regain the White House in 2016.
Amnesty: Obama will no doubt try to enfranchise millions of illegal aliens by some type of executive action before the new Senate take their seats. This will probably fail, but when the new Republican Senate is sworn they are going to have to deal with it. I would look for some kind of modified amnesty to be passed. If the Republicans fail to do this, they will risk forever losing the Hispanic vote.
ObamaCare: This is an unqualified disaster that Democrats don’t want to talk about, but again once the Republicans are going to have to either repeal ObamaCare or modify it. The Republicans will have to decide what to do with this monstrosity. I doubt they will abolish it. I would expect them to pass a modification that will water it down and make it less financially onerous.
ISIS: Obama campaigned on getting us out of Iraq and Afghanistan, and this is what polls showed the American people wanted; however, they wanted it with honor. In his zeal to be the President who got us out of foreign entanglements, Obama disregarded his military advisors who wanted to leave a residual force to keep order. The Republicans will have to decide whether we will once again have boots on the ground, and how many.
Economy: Despite all the Democratic cheerleading for a supposed rising economy, the American people know better. The average American still has friends who have lost their jobs, and their wages aren’t moving up. Obama keeps trumpeting the fact that we have a one or two percent inflation rate, but when Americans go to their grocery stores, they see higher and higher prices, smaller packages, and meat priced so high that many Americans are limiting it to once or twice a week. The Republicans are going to be expected to fix the economy. If they don’t, they will pay the price.
