"Peter" has some thoughts on hostages held by Afghanistan or Pakistan
American Caitlan Coleman and her Canadian husband Joshua Boyle decided, three years ago, to go backpacking in Afghanistan near the Pakistan border; an area controlled by Bowe Bergdahl's friends the Haqqanis. Coleman was five months pregnant at the time that she and Boyle disappeared. A family member said to a reporter, "They were in the wrong place at the wrong time." Ya think?!
Now, three years later, the State Department is doing an assessment to determine if a rescue is possible. The family has been beating on doors in Congress the entire time and they have apparently found the right cauliflowered ear. A rescue mission is a stupid idea. It would risk the lives of our brave soldiers and intelligence operatives, with little chance of success.
Even if successfully rescued it would be to no avail. These two would probably just spend their next vacation swimming with the seals on the coast of South Africa, where they would provide a juicy morsel for the Great White sharks that live at the top of the food chain there. You can't save people from themselves.
Now we've got a young college student arrested in N.Korea and accused of being a spy. Excuse me, but anyone stupid enough to vacation in N.Korea is too stupid to be a spy. Perhaps he's related to Caitlan and Joshua, or at least went to the same liberal college. These millennials could be the dumbest generation ever.
