The GOP Candidate Debates

The best line came from Brett Baier, “The elephant not in the room”; referring obviously to the least-liked former POTUS, Donald Trump. Trump will be Biden’s age before he finishes another term in office. But there is no chance of the GOP taking the White House, let alone the House or Senate, if Trump is their nominee. He is despised by far too many Republicans and Independents, who would vote for Biden – or anyone else - over Trump.

 

The RNC is obviously worried about Vivek Ramaswamy. He was interrupted and attacked more than any other candidate. But he did himself in when he said he would not continue the funding for the defense of Ukraine.

 

Pence was rude and interrupting beneath his façade of sanctimony. He held his chin a bit too high.

 

Christie made some good points, but he still comes off as too “New Jersey” and too fat.

 

Haley scored some points with women by quoting Margaret Thatcher, “If you want something done right, ask a woman”. But we all knew that; our wives had already said it.

 

DiSantis scored more points than any of the others and had what he’s done in Florida for proof. His best comment was that, as POTUS, he would use US Special Forces inside Mexico to root out cartel bosses and kill them; and any cartel soldiers or drug smugglers who crossed our border.

 

Tim Scott seems a nice guy who just isn’t ready.

 

Doug Burgum is a firebrand for his age, but he doesn’t have the necessary experience.

 

Asa Hutchinson, also getting up there in age, was just barely hanging on by his fingernails.

 

All in all DiSantis appears to have taken his lead even farther. Here’s hoping he can dethrone The Donald.

Two Wars

"Peter" has some thoughts on the two wars.

 

America is facing two wars and Biden needs to choose which one to continue.

 

The war against carbon, led by John Kerry on behalf of Biden, is seriously impeding our ability to respond appropriately to Putin's war against Ukraine. Cancelling the Keystone XL pipeline and shutting down shale oil production has severely degraded our energy position in world markets. Under Trump we were net oil exporters, producing more oil than any other country. Under Biden we are importing millions of barrels of oil from Russia.

 

What a ridiculous and easily avoidable position for us to be in. In addition, Biden has reduced the defense budget just when we need a strong military to cope with Russian aggression and Chinese ambitions to replace us as the world's military and economic leader. The war on carbon should be stopped immediately. We could soon be exporting liquefied natural gas to Europe to replace what they were getting from Russia.

 

The malfeasance emanating from the Biden administration' which jeopardizes our national security, is grounds for impeachment. It's time for the GOP to start playing hardball and pursue an impeachment of both Biden and Harris.

Wokeness

 "Peter" has some thoughts on the "Woke Movement."

The Woke warriors are waging war on America.

 

In the Woke world there is “Good Racism” that excludes whites from college dorms, safe spaces and Federal Aid programs. It prioritizes the illegal immigrant over the citizen. It rationalizes such actions as payback for perceived past sins of the whites, thus accusing the whites of today of being responsible for the sins of their ancestors hundreds of years ago.

 

The Woke brigade believes Americans are spoiled and should be paying much more for gasoline, heating and air conditioning. They believe the national debt doesn’t matter because we can just print more money to pay for it.

The Wokes believe that rich people who bribe a college dean should go to prison, but a black person who loots or murders or burns down buildings should not. Ideology must determine prosecutions, not the law. Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón is a prime example of a woke devotee.

 

The Wokes don’t acknowledge hypocrisy. They want to tell you how to live while living in mansions within gated communities. Elitists and social justice warriors see no hypocrisy in travelling in private jets or luxury cars, while whining about fossil fuels and carbon footprints.

 

The Wokes like homelessness and the border crisis for the same reason: it distracts attention from what they are really doing to further their agenda, spending trillions of dollars for left wing causes disguised as infrastructure and paid for by us taxpayers.

 

The Silicon Valley reign of terror is wokeness at its worst. Rational thought must be strangled in its cradle or people might catch on to what’s really going on. Free speech must be throttled.

The party of Lincoln and Reagan has finally come together. They now stand locked arms weepy-eyed, wringing hands and groveling with apologies as they indicate responsibility for the Jan 06 Capitol Hill debacle. At the same time the party of Wilson and Obama is screaming Impeachment! - 25th Amendment! - Resign!

Impeachment? Pelosi can keep beating that dead horse and very well muster enough from her confederacy of dunces to hold court in the house. A court right out of “A Tale Of Two Cities” with Pelosi playing the lead role as the crone Madame Defarge -  and like Defarge right there in the front. As Pelosi lives out her fantasy her elected minions, most of the media and a dubious section of the public drool and claw like my cat when I tease her with a dead fish.

Shouts of “IMPEACHMENT!” and “Watch what we do Monday!” resonate this Friday night like howling primates at a zoo. OK, file the damn articles and vote on it in the House. Then what? It goes to Senate and where are those reprobates? Vacation - don’t return until Jan 20 - Inauguration Day. That would require one speedy trial for sure.

We’re witnessing a disaster in the making that will play out at least for the next two years. At the same time we just witnessed what amounted to the first shot of the Civil War at Fort Sumter redux when Ashli Babbitt was murdered in cold blood.

And as things boil and fester the president elect along with his blind and lame screech “Peaceful transition” as Donald Trump is forced to run a gauntlet lined with savages - a gauntlet in part his own making.

 

The National CyberINsecurity Agency

 

"Peter" has some thoughts about the recent hacks of our government's computers.

We've been hacked again, worse than ever before. Our protectors speculate that its the Russians again, but they don't really know for sure. It could be the CCP or the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corp. It could be a junior high school computer club just fooling around. Nobody knows, but all of these groups have access.

 

The powerful people who are in charge of our government's many networks - such as nuclear weapons systems, military systems, electric grid systems,  intelligence systems, research laboratories, etc. - have CHOSEN to make these systems Internet accessible, even though that means opening up those systems to potential hacking. Why would they do that? They expose our systems to hacking for one purpose only; their own convenience.

 

They want to browse the Internet or send and receive emails while at work. They want to access their work systems from home. They want to be able to download high quality graphics and video files at their desk. Convenience is a right in the minds of the powerful. Security is somebody else's problem.

 

But the people in charge of systems security can't possibly do their job properly unless they are ALLOWED to secure the systems properly by disconnecting them from the Internet. No outside access is a requirement before you can pronounce a system as secure. Anyone can browse the Internet anytime from their phone. Dedicated servers can be set up for email or downloading files. Physical security of systems is achievable, but not convenient.

 

So what's more important, the security of the nation, or the convenience of layers bureaucrats relaxing in their offices?
